If you're struggling with finding your art style, I've been there. Well… I'm actually still there. Every time I find my art style, I get second thoughts after a little while. So I start looking for another art style. But that's just me though, don't worry, not a lot of people can do something like that. I do have to warn you, your style will always change. Probably not as much as mine, but it will change. You change right? Well, so does your style, it changes with you.

Okay, I think this was more than enough intro for today. Let's start with those tips!

1. Try different styles

You can try to make it a challenge, pick 5 random styles, and randomly pick a picture you like. When you draw that picture 5 times in those 5 styles, you will probably already like one style more than the others. You will slowly find out what kind of style you like from every style you tried. From there you just have to keep drawing! When you use that style for a longer period, it will transform more and more into your art style.

Oh, and by the way, it's also a lot of fun for you to do as well. I still use this method all the time. I think I like it just a little too much, to be honest… Of course, you don't have to use this method every time you feel like you want to change your style. Most of the time your style develops itself, so you don't have to do anything!

2. Help from family and friends (or Siri)

You could let your friends and family pick a style because they know you pretty well (hopefully), they will probably be close to the style you will choose in the end. If those styles are really different from each other, and you don't really know which is closest, you could use the method written above.

If your friends and family don't want to help for some reason, or it's just not possible, ask Siri! It may sound ridiculous, but you will get the most random ever.

3. Just wait

It might sound boring and a long process to you. But I think this method works the best, especially when you're not in a hurry to find your style. Your art style will develop itself, I promise you! A benefit of this method is, that you will draw in a lot of different styles in the meantime. Looking back could be really helpful with finding your art style. Of course, it could also just be really fun to look back at all those different styles and the progress you made while finding your style.

4. Challenge

You probably know those monthly challenges, where you draw something every day, but the style or the topic is already chosen. This will help you to get a lot closer to finding your own style, and only in one month! This means that those challenges are not only fun to do, but they could also be really convenient. And on top of that, when you're bored, you've already got one thing to do every single day for a month.

5. One art piece

Just grab a big piece of paper and add a little drawing to that paper (almost) every day. You should draw something you feel like drawing until the piece of paper is filled. It's really fun to do, and you get to make it as crazy or weird as you want! But remember, that drawing can only contain your ideas, not something you saw on Pinterest. It has to be something you're feeling like drawing. Otherwise, you will only end up with a big piece of paper filled with little drawings. That's still something I would recommend doing because it's so much fun. It's just not ideal if you want to find your style through this method.

When the paper is filled, you're done! Everything on that piece of paper represents your art style!

If you use this method, I really recommend this paper-roll and canvas set. With this paper-roll, you can choose the amount of paper you use yourself. This paper also works with any kind of product you use, pencil, marker, or even paint. These canvasses are also great and not expensive at all!

I really hope these tips helped, and just to make sure, it really doesn't matter how long you take to find your art style, just let it happen. These are only a couple of tips to help you find your art style faster, it's not guaranteed that it will immediately work, it will just speed up the process.

By the way, I love seeing you try those tips, so make sure to dm me photos or tag me in them!
