How to Sync Music on My iPod to an iPhone

Building up a decent music library can take years of downloading tracks and collecting CDs. Once you've collected all your favorite albums and songs in one place, then you'll want to access them in as many ways as possible. Use the Apple iTunes software on a desktop or laptop computer to transfer and sync music libraries between your iPod and iPhone. Connect each device to the computer using the supplied cable, and iTunes automatically syncs your music library with both your iPod and iPhone.

Step 1

Plug one end of the supplied connection cable into the iPod and the other end into the USB port on the computer or laptop.

Step 2

Wait for Apple iTunes to launch. It should detect the device and open automatically. If not, double-click the iTunes icon on the computer's desktop screen.

Step 3

Select the iPod under "Devices" in the left-hand menu of the iTunes window.

Step 4

Click "Music" on the main iTunes menu.

Step 5

Click "Sync Music." Select all songs, individual songs or playlists by clicking the corresponding check boxes.

Step 6

Click "Apply." iTunes will now sync the iTunes music library and iPod music library. Wait for the synchronization to complete. Disconnect the iPod.

Step 7

Plug the iPhone into the USB cable, select iPhone under "Devices" and repeat the same steps. The music library on iTunes has already synchronized with the iPod and this library will now sync with the iPhone to give you the same music on both devices.
