Instructor Training Cardrona offers a range of ski instructor courses depending on the NZSIA qualifications you want to achieve!
Training with the Cardrona ITC gives you the opportunity to sit many different ski instructor courses. We offer training to qualifications including the NZSIA Level 1, 2 & 3 instructing certifications.
NZSIA Ski Level 1
The NZSIA Ski Level 1 Certification is the entry-level instructor's course aimed at people interested in joining the snow sports industry. A Level 1 Ski Instructor is certified to teach first time skiers up to advanced wedge turns.
With Cardrona ITC you can sit your Level 1 as part of our Level 1 course, or as part of your pathway on the Level 1 & 2 course.

NZSIA Ski Level 2
The NZSIA Ski Level 2 Certification is aimed at instructors wanting to progress within the snow sports industry, to teaching students from wedge-parallel turns to advanced parallel turns. The minimum requirement to sit the Level 2 Certification is Ski Level 1, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
At Cardrona ITC you can sit your Level 2 as part of our Level 2 only course, or after you've gained your Level 1 qualification on our Level 1 & 2 course.

NZSIA Ski Level 3
The NZSIA Ski Level 3 Certification is for instructors wanting to progress within the snow sports industry, to teaching students in all-mountain situations. The Level 3 ski instructor is fully-certified to teach all levels, up to advanced/experts skiers. The minimum requirements for the Level 3 Certification is Ski Level 2, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
The Cardrona ITC offers a specific training programme for Level 3 applicants to prepare them in the best way possible to sit their Level 3 exam.

Otago Polytechnic Ski
The Cardrona ITC also runs the Otago Polytechnic Certificate in Snow Sport Instructing, which prepares mostly New Zealand-based students to become ski instructors. These students will have the opportunity to sit both the Level 1 & 2 NZSIA certifications.
